English Food Part II

One thing about being in Bloomsbury and Fitzrovia is that it is in a very good area for more upscale restaurants. These would fall into the Significantly More Expensive (SME) catagory. They are mostly Italian. One of my favourites is Paradiso Olivelli on Store Street. It is at the lower end of SME. It is my London version of Chianti's on fourth.

Also any of the Chez Gerard French restaurant, Bertorelli Italian restaurant, Livebait fish restaurant & Café Fish restaurants:

Another very good Italian restaurant is Da Paolo at Charlotte Place:

If you want the best haggis I have ever had you must visit Boisdale of Belgravia which offers among other more contemporary food a traditional 1780 Scottish meal:

My best fish and chip experience has been at the North Sea Fish Restaurant on Leigh Street.

We are sitting down to dinner in a few house with 9 other folks, two of them being Mike and Ev and the others are neighbours. I guess the English don't have Thanksgiving and I am not sure they even cook turkey. Hope you and Catherine had a good time during her visit. We miss you guys

Thanks for that D&V. Yes the English do eat turkey, more than they use to but especially at Christmas. What you can't get is pumpkin pie.
